Summer 2009

August 23 – August 28

If you are between 14 and 17 years of age and living in the Squamish area you are eligible to apply for the program which features instruction from experienced outdoor educators and ACMG certified guides.SEE APPLICATION.

Program cost for the full week is $50 as much of the operating funding is provided through the Aidan Oloman Fund and other contributors. SEE ABOUT US and THANK YOU.

Schedule

Day 1: Sunday August 23th
PARTICIPANT / GUIDE MEETING

6pm-8:30pm - Group 'get to know you' activities and information night.


Day 2: Monday August 24th
DAY OF ROCK CLIMBING

8am - 5:30pm - Introduction to rock climbing. Instruction includes movement, safety, belay and rappel techniques in a supportive environment.

5:30pm - 8pm - Light supper and art! Participants will be given a creative art project to do and take home.


Day 3: Tuesday August 25th
ROPES COURSE and CLIMBING

8 AM – 12:30 PM - High Ropes Course in Squamish Valley. Lots of fun.

12:30 PM -1:30 PM - Lunch

1:30 PM – 4:30 PM - Rock Climbing. Top-rope climbing for beginner to intermediates, strengthening of climbing techniques

4:30 PM – 8 PM - Supper and Squamish First Nations Storytelling


Day 4: Wednesday August 26th
CLIMBING, SWIMMING, AND PREPARATION
FOR BACK COUNTRY TRIP

8:00 AM – 1 PM - Multi-Pitch Rock Climbing On The Apron.

1 PM -5 PM -Swim At Lake Prep for Hike

5 PM - NO EVENING PROGRAM


Day 5: Thursday August 27th
OVERNIGHT HIKING TRIP


Day 6: FRIDAY August 28th
RETURN FROM HIKE BY 3PM

3 PM - Swim And Debrief.

BBQ AND CELEBRATION WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS!
